A note from Richa
Namaste,
I grew up in a family where food was never just food. Spices came home whole, were picked clean on a steel thali and ground in small amounts. My elders could tell good haldi from bad by its smell. Nobody needed a label.
When I started running my own kitchen in the city, that confidence disappeared. The packets looked brighter, the prices kept changing, and every few months there was another news story about colour in chilli powder or something mixed into oil. I wanted to cook for my family the way I was cooked for, and I couldn’t be sure what I was using.
Sri Sarayu is my answer to that. We buy whole, we test every batch in an NABL-accredited lab, we grind and pack in small lots in Ayodhya, and we print a QR code that shows you the report. We seal everything in zipper pouches, glass and tins, because good food deserves good storage and our rivers deserve less plastic.
I am building this company as a woman, with women. I hope that when you open a Sri Sarayu pack, it smells like a kitchen you remember.

What I believe
- Show, don’t claim. We won’t call our food organic or a miracle cure. We’ll show you the lab report.
- Old wisdom, new proof. Dadi’s methods, checked with modern testing.
- Less is more. Nothing added that your grandmother wouldn’t recognise.
- Respect the river. No plastic in our packs, and less waste at every step.
- Women build well. Our goal is a team, and a supply chain, led by women.
Building a women-led company
Sri Sarayu Agro Industries (OPC) Private Limited is wholly owned by its founder. As we grow, we are working towards women making up most of our processing and packing team in Ayodhya, sourcing from women-led farmer groups and self-help groups, and flexible shifts for mothers. We’ll share our progress on this page.
