Awadhi Buknu Masala
अवधी बुकनू
Buknu is the masala every Awadhi grandmother kept by the stove: whole spices and rock salt roasted and pounded together into a tangy, peppery sprinkle. It goes on top of almost anything cooked, from dal-chawal and khichdi to parathas and raita. Ours is made with our own shuddh hing, so it has no wheat flour.
