Dadi's winter kadha, measured properly
The kadha every Indian home makes when the weather turns, written down with real quantities.
Every family has its own kadha. This one is ours, written down so it tastes the same every time.
For two cups
- 2 cups water
- 5 to 6 tulsi leaves
- ¼ tsp saunth (dry ginger powder)
- 4 kali mirch, crushed
- 2 laung
- 1 small piece of dalchini
- Honey or jaggery, to taste
Method
Boil everything except the honey until the water reduces to about one cup. Strain, let it cool until you can sip it comfortably, then stir in honey.
Kadha is a traditional home drink, not a medicine. If you have fever or a cold that lasts, see a doctor.
